Wow! What an awesome weekend it’s gonna be! I LOVE “baptisms in the Smokies”!
(Not quite sure why I put those quotation marks…It’s like it makes it seem like more of a thing…Which it totally is!!)
For last year’s “baptism in the Smokies”, the weather was chilling and drizzly/rainy, but it was a beautiful day just the same!
This year we can expect…let’s see…

Y’know it’s so amazing, now that we have the ol’ internet, that you can just click and…BAM!…You know the weather!

Click!…Well, I’ll be! By mid August, you’ll be able to buy the “ready-to-drink Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte” in Krogers! Ain’t that a fall thing? Seems like it comes earlier every year…
And…Click!…Hey! This is cool! Black bears in the Smokies are being fitted with a GPS device so rangers can track ‘em and see where they go to get human food! So, if you see a bear along US 321 looking down at his paw, close the lid of your cooler really tight! I wonder if it tells them how many calories they eat in a day…

F’r example…Click!…Here’s some local news from Wichita Falls, TX…Someone painted a beautiful bird (an egret!) on the wall of the spillway along Lake Wichita! Some say it’s art (it’s really good!) and others say it’s grafitti and whoever did it should get a ticket! The unknown mystery artist hasn’t stepped forward and claimed it yet. Maybe they’re waiting till the town makes the call…Fine art? Or fined art?
Let’s see…Click!…And in International Fall, Minnesota, the ifallsjournal.com says they’re offering an 8 hour trapping class at 4361 County Rd 97. Minimum age is 11.
Eight hours? I caught a skunk once with a fifteen minute lesson from Michelle and a Honey Bun! (Skunks love ‘em! Cats don’t!)

The state’s largest parade (!) usually goes down Grand Ave but this year it will start at Finkbine Street and go straight down Walnut…and then right on East 7th…It’s because River Bridge is closed ‘cause they’re working on it…
Wait! “Aug. 9”! I’m sorry! That was on Wednesday! It’s already happened!
