Hey, everyone!
I got some wonderful news!
Jesus the Lord loves you more than you know, and more than you love yourself!!
He has paid for and forgiven you for all of your messes!
He has (and is working out this very second!) an amazing plan for you and for what He is making of you!
And as far as the future goes, the very best is yet to come!
That REALLY is awesome, wonderful news! I am personally waiting for good news about some things in my life but it makes the wait "waitable" just to know that the very best news is the Good News!
It's awesome to have good news to share!
Like at the Anderson County jail, f'r instance…
We get to tell our brothers in the orange jumpsuits that because of Jesus, they are actually dressed in the robes of His pure righteousness, declared holy and clean in the eyes of God, no matter what their record says!
One fella was talking about how after many years inside, its easy to get used to the jail life and it becomes more difficult to live outside, where everything is so unfamiliar. So we talked about how, if you follow Jesus, He WILL lead you to places that are totally new, unfamiliar, and disorientating! The disciples followed Him and found themselves in storms on the midnight sea, walking on the stormy waves themselves, and in jail for their faith. And for them, jail wasn't familiar, but new!
This dude added that, because of his faith in Jesus…"Yeah, the other day I apologized to a guard because I had smarted off to him. The first time I've ever asked someone's forgiveness in my life." Wow! He's probably 34 or so! Asking forgiveness for the very first time and following Jesus to an unknown world…the Land of Humility!
And when their nasty boloney sandwiches were handed out, the Good News is that there's coming a day when we'll eat and drink together at the scrumptious Supper of the Lamb!
Bye bye, boloney!
