Give Him The Keys

Here’s a quick thought:

A lot of times young Christians come to me really confused about so many things in their life. They have massively complicated issues and Scripture seems like a mystery in a foreign language. When we start to really talk and get into the details of what’s going on, I gradually uncover one or two areas of their life where they are just slamming the door in Jesus’ face. In other words, once they open up and are honest, there’s this huge thing they’re into that Jesus wants to get rid of but they won’t budge on it. They’re holding on to it with clenched fists and white knuckles.

Let me tell you a secret from a dude that’s been making stupid mistakes for a long, long time: The sooner you surrender and hand the keys of your life over to Jesus, the more sense everything will make. The faster you decide to let Him call the shots, the faster a lot of this confusion will evaporate. You see, Jesus bought us. He paid for us with His own blood and we belong to Him. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) The way that should translate is this: When I wake up in the morning, I should take a look in the mirror and say to myself, “I do not own this. This is not mine. Jesus is the boss. He loves me. He does everything for my best. He’s good to me and I want to give Him the keys all day long today.”

I promise you, the more you let Him run the show, the simpler and more sweet your life will be. Give it a try today.
