Hey, everyone!

I’m sooo thankful for this week! I’m so pumped this is Thanksgiving weekend! Not only yesterday  but also today, I’m giving thanks for giving thanks! I know it wasn't that awesome of a week for the 45 million turkeys who had their "special day" yesterday…When we came TO the table, they were ON the table, but just look at it this way…

(I’m not quite sure how to finish that sentence. Changing the subject…)

Did you know that turkeys have excellent eye-sight? They can see in color! I’m not quite sure how people know that, but “all I’m telling ya is what I read in the ‘papers”! They sleep in trees at night and can run up to 20 mph! This year, Americans will enjoy 7.9 billion pounds of the bird, or 17.5 pounds of turkey per person. So apparently 20 mph ain’t fast enough!

Anyway…Thanksgiving is the holiday of the most beautiful smells! The smell of apple pies baking…the bird roasting…the smell of money given…

“Huh?!”

That’s right! When Paul was in prison in Rome, the brothers and sisters in Jesus who lived in Philippi sent him money because they knew he was doing what God asked him to do and they wanted to be a part of helping get God’s work done. So he wrote them a letter (the “Letter of Paul to the Philippians”...you probably could have guessed that!) mostly just to thank them for giving and helping him and for caring about what God was doing in the world. And he told them that their gift was a sacrifice of love and devotion to God. And as the spiritual smoke of that sacrifice rose up to Heaven, it smelled beautiful to our Lord!

“I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus…” (Philippians 4. 18-19)

Hearts giving because they love God! Mmmmmm!

Did you know that in the last few weeks, money has been given through Triple C to…

…help a young couple bring two baby boys, dying in Africa, into their hearts and home and into their family...

…help dozens of families in India devastated by the recent typhoon…

…as well as do the same in the Philippines…

…send 130 (!) shoeboxes around the world packed with presents and the message of Jesus’ love to kids who wouldn’t have either this Christmas…

And I bet there won't be an envelope left on the lobby Christmas tree when we offer the opportunity to pick one and fill it with enough to buy an Indian widow's dress or an orphan's two outfits for the year!

I am so thankful this Thanksgiving for Triple C! For how much you care! For your generous hearts! For your love for our Lord! For the days ahead and all we will do to share Him with so many!

Your love, your hearts, your giving to the Father and the cause of Christ in the world… It smells delicious to Him!!

Mmmmm!

Happy Day-After-Thanksgiving, everyone!!
